    Summary

    The Adult Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program provides financial and technical assistance to states, state courts, local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized Indian tribal governments to develop and implement drug courts and veterans treatment courts. The purpose of this project is to provide financial assistance to rural courts for the enhancement of current surveillance operations.

    Funds may be used but not limited to: GPS monitoring, virtual field supervision, and solutions to support participant supervision.

    For the purpose of this grant, funds can only be used to enhance or expand surveillance technology to assist local law enforcement agencies within the rural accountability court programs to increase surveillance of drug court participants.

    Grant funds cannot be used for:

    • state training
    • salary
    • office space
    • utilities
    • furniture
    • incentives
    • monthly cell phone charges
    • the purchase of vehicles
    • weapons
    • for overall agency supplies
    • construction projects
    • grant administrative overhead

  • Eligibility Details

    Eligible applicants are limited to current state funded Adult Drug Courts to include: Adult Felony Drug, Veterans, DUI/DWI, and Family Treatment in the state of Georgia.

    Deadline Details

    Deadline to submit applications is August 7, 2020. A similar deadline is anticipated annually.

    Award Details

    $250,000 is available. Individual award amounts vary. Award period is one year, beginning October 1, 2020. 25% cost match is required.

    Funds must be used to supplement existing funds for program activities and cannot replace or supplant nonfederal funds that have been appropriated for the same purpose.
