    Summary

    The CDOT Office of Transportation Safety offers community coalitions and others to apply for mini-grants to help support specific traffic safety education and enforcement efforts. 


    Funding must be used for resources, support, training and materials. The funds enable traffic safety professionals to execute and support:

    • Local and statewide occupant protection;
    • Child passenger safety (Child Passenger Safety seats cannot be purchased with these funds)
    • Teen driving safety;
    • Distracted driving prevention;
    • Motorcycle safety;
    • Bicycle and pedestrian safety; and
    • Impaired driving prevention initiatives.

    Additional Information

    Applicants must be able to identify a traffic issue supported by data, establish baseline and evaluation measures, describe measurable activities and detail how the project will be evaluated.

    Law enforcement agencies that do not currently receive CDOT LEAF or high-visibility enforcement funds are able to apply for specialized enforcement efforts.

    Deadline Details

    Applications are accepted on a rolling basis from October 1st through June 1st, annually.

    Award Details

    Maximum funding amount is $4,950. Cost sharing/matching is not required.
