National Psoriasis Foundation
Summary
The National Psoriasis Foundation Research Program funds and promotes research into psoriatic disease and related comorbidities, under NPF's mission of finding a cure for psoriatic disease and improving the lives of those affected.
The Foundation chooses research projects not only for their potential to yield information that may help treat psoriatic disease, but also to answer basic questions about the underlying disease mechanisms, comorbidities, and public health. Applications undergo a rigorous scientific peer-review by a panel of experts and are then selected for funding based on patient input and Foundation priorities.
This year the Foundation is offering six different research grant opportunities:
Discovery Grants
Translational Research Grants
Early Career Research Grants
Bridge Grants
Public Health Challenge Grant
Psoriatic Arthritis Research Grants

Additional Information
Discovery Grants:
The goal is to stimulate the development of new research programs in the field of psoriatic disease capable of competing for long-term funding from the National Institutes of Health or other agencies in the future.
Translational Research Grants:
Translational Research Grants fund research initiatives that focus on the rapid translation of basic scientific discoveries into clinical applications with a clear benefit for patients with psoriatic disease.
Early Career Research Grants:
The goal of this award is to support scientists at this challenging career stage and to welcome them into the collaborative community of scientists, clinicians, and patients involved with NPF research.
Bridge Grants:
The National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) is offering Bridge Grants to support researchers who have submitted meritorious but unfunded K- and R- applications to the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) with a focus on psoriatic disease or related comorbidities. Through this special opportunity, NPF intends to provide a critical year of additional support to near-miss applicants so that they can collect data to strengthen a future application.
Public Health Challenge Grant:
The 2017 Public Health Challenge Grant will support research that uses existing data sources to address questions related to the public health of psoriatic disease. Priority will be given to applications that address research areas identified in the CDC Public Health Agenda for Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis. These include, but are not limited to:
advancing our understanding of the age of onset of psoriatic disease,
comorbidities,
burden,
cost,
natural history,
pediatric burden,
prescription drug use, and
disease treatment and control.
Psoriatic Arthritis Research Grants:
In a collaborative effort, the Arthritis National Research Foundation (ANRF) and the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) are seeking grant applications that focus on studying psoriatic arthritis.
