    Summary

    Funds are available to provide assistance to communities for use in revitalizing neighborhoods, expanding affordable housing and economic opportunities, providing infrastructure and/or improving community facilities and services.  Communities can devote these funds to a wide range of activities that best serve their own particular development priorities.

    All projects must meet at least one of three national objectives:

    • benefit to low and moderate income persons
    • prevention or elimination of slums or blight
    • meeting particularly urgent community development needs.

  • Eligibility Details

    Eligible applicants are all NKADD cities and counties, except Covington county.

    Deadline Details

    The deadline to submit applications for Housing, Public Facilities, and Community Projects was August 1, 2014. Similar deadlines are anticipated annually.

    The deadline to submit applications for Economic Development and Community Emergency Relief Fund Projects was January 31, 2015. Similar deadlines are anticipated annually.

    Applications for Flood Control State Matching Grants are accepted on a rolling basis.

    Applications for the Recreational Trails Program must be submitted by March 30, 2015.

    Applications for the Land and Water Conservation Fund must be submitted by April 30, 2015.
