    Summary

    The objectives of this program are to:

    1. enhance fire training facilities and capabilities;
    2. develop application and program processes;
    3. offer equal opportunities for localities to apply and to be considered;
    4. assist VFSB in making awards, and
    5. to permit VDFP to efficiently administer the program.

    Funds through this program may only be used for training purposes. No operational costs will be considered for funding under this program. The review criteria for mini-grant funding requests will consider the following:

    1. the number of jurisdictions involved;
    2. availability of matching funds;
    3. the regional training impact;
    4. previous grants awarded to the applicant;
    5. proper application;
    6. timeliness of application;
    7. potential impact if grant is not awarded;
    8. the number of programs affected, and
    9. the demonstrated need.

    Counties, cities and incorporated towns in the State of Virginia are eligible to apply for funding through this program.

    Deadline Details

    This program will not be accepting applications in FY13.

    Award Details

    The maximum award for any Mini-Grant is $10,000.
