    Summary

    The Farmworker Women’s Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Program (FW) develops and implements program activities aimed at addressing and impacting the issues of sexual assault and
    domestic violence among monolingual and bilingual Spanish-speaking and low-income farmworker women. The Farmworker Women’s Program goals are:

    1. Provide statewide outreach and education on sexual assault and domestic violence among monolingual, bilingual Spanish-speaking and low-income farmworker women;
    2. Provide training to agencies addressing sexual assault and domestic violence in the farmworker community;
    3. Develop outreach materials focusing on the special needs of farmworker women;
    4. Disseminate information to Cal EMA-funded Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence projects regarding the unique service provision needs of farmworker women;
    5. Link farmworker sexual assault and domestic violence victims to available resources; and
    6. Coordinate and collaborate with Rape Crisis Centers, Domestic Violence Shelters and Victim Witness Programs in all chapter areas.

  • Eligibility Details

    Only the Organizacion en California de Lideres Campesinas is eligible to apply for the Farmworker Women’s Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Program (FW) Funds.

    Deadline Details

    The deadline to submit an application was August 22, 2012. Similar deadlines are anticipated annually.

    Award Details

    It is anticipated $213,473 of Violence Against Women Act Services Training Officers Prosecutors (VAWA STOP) 2012 funds will be made available to support the FW program for FY2012/13. A 25% match is required.
