The Bayer USA Foundation is an endowed 501(c)(3) entity with a programmatic focus on education and workforce development, and environment and sustainability. Its mission is to support programs that enhance the quality of life, provide unique and enriching opportunities that connect diverse groups and ensure preparedness for tomorrow's leaders — thereby, resulting in sustainable partnerships that continually improve communities in which Bayer employees live and work.
The Bayer USA Foundation is interested in receiving grant proposals that impact at least one of Bayer's major business communities and fall within one of the following giving areas:
Education and Workforce Development
- Hands-on, inquiry-based science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education programs
- Initiatives that provide innovative solutions to encourage more female and minority students to pursue a career in STEM
Environment and Sustainability
- Environmental education opportunities for youth
- Programs focusing on green building and energy-efficiency
- Programs supporting issue-related work around sustainability
Arts and Culture
- The Foundation provides limited support for arts, culture and social service organizations in major Bayer site communities. Proposals should focus on education or advocacy initiatives aimed at youth or underserved populations.
Geographic focus areas: Baytown/Houston, TX; Berkeley/Northern CA; Kansas City, MO; Northern NJ; Pittsburgh, PA; Raleigh-Durham, NC; Shawnee, KS. Note: Proposals from STEM education programs with a national focus will be entertained.
