    Summary

    The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore aims to improve the quality of life for people of the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland, specifically Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties. The Foundation offers the following programs:

    • Mini-Grant - for technical assistance and capacity building, emergency assistance, youth help, or volunteer engagement;
    • Community Needs - provides program support to a broad range of charitable programs;
    • Education Awards - provides support for classroom-based programs in public and MSDE-certified private schools (Pre-K - 12) on the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland; 
    • Fields of Interest - established by donors to support a particular area of interest. Grants are made to the most appropriate organizations and projects that serve that interest area;
    • Workforce Development - supports scholarship opportunities for formal work readiness, education training, or advancement and professional development programs; and
    • Women's Fund - for programs addressing the unmet needs of women and/or girls on Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore

    Generally funding may not be used for:

    • Debt retirement;
    • Operational deficits;
    • Vehicles;
    • Endowment funds;
    • Political/Lobbying programs;
